The Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities and City of Cupertino hosts a Bell Ringing for World Peace ceremony to commemorate 80 years of peace since the bombing of Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Toyokawa.
The annual ceremony takes place in Cupertino and around the nation. Date and time for the Cupertino event is chosen to match the actual time the unfortunate event occurred in Toyokawa in 1945, which usually falls on August 5th or 6th.
Bell Ringing for World Peace has become a community event, and continues annually. The event aims to bring awareness to a 80 years of peace between the US and Japan.
